This baskets reflects my processing of loss and grief, and the re-building through which one, eventually, accepts what’s lost and then becomes. Twinned basket made with hemp, nettle, banana, and linen.

I'm interested in the connections between inner and outer worlds, and between humans and nature, and deeply appreciate the meditative quality of basketry. Each movement of the hand, each touch of fiber or wire, each moment in the process of harvest allows time for contemplation and deeper understanding. Some vessels emerge from human-made materials and some with materials I've gathered from lakeshores and landscapes, including my own garden. I've been making baskets for only a few years now and I'm grateful and drawn to the opportunities for learning through this practice.
