Originally from St. Louis, MO I've tried all different crafts - embroidery, rug hooking, painting, etc. In 1987 I started basket weaving. I have woven various styles of basketry - Nantucket, sculptural design, twills, coiling and contemporary gourds. Materials used include reed, threads, barks, vines, gourds, antlers, cane, hand-painted paper, wire, alcohol inks, metals and recycled materials. Since 2014 I work mainly with pine needles and grasses using a coiling technique. I enjoy creating my own designs and no two pieces are alike. Contemporary basketry as my art form is always changing and demanding more of my mind, heart, experience and expression.
