◀ Return to the Basketry Calendar
Participants will learn the fundamentals for weaving a twined basket by creating a set of two or three bowls. Demonstrations will discuss topics such as how to start and finish a basket, how to modify the basket’s shape, as well as how to add patterned designs. Further art discussions will include topics such as color theory, proportions, and pattern generation. Initial projects will be smaller in scale so that they can be used as references for later projects. All skill levels are welcome.
The workshop includes room, meals, and conferences at Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s guest house. Check-in is at 2:00pm on July 20. Check-out is at 11:00am on July 23, with the final conference finishing around 3:30pm.
