Design and weave a custom wicker, round reed basket from start to finish. Learn how to select an appropriate base, side weaving techniques, border treatments, and various handle styles to enhance whatever type of basket you desire. Students will choose colors to brighten your weaving and learn how to dye natural reed material with fiber reactive dyes. Some experience required, students must have woven with round and flat reed; feel comfortable with the basic skills such as twining, three-rod wale, and over-under weaving; and know how to make a basket base, rim or border, and at least two side weaves.
