Forms in Wire and Gut

This workshop is designed for both beginners and more experienced individuals interested in working with wire and gut. Participants will learn a variety of textile and basketry techniques including twisting, wrapping/binding, encapsulation, random weave, and sewing. We will begin with samples and transition to larger forms using wire. Participants will also explore adding hog gut as a skin, encapsulation, and lashing/binding elements. Emphasis will be placed on learning and experimenting with the techniques, and play will be encouraged. Expect some fun exercises and lively group discussions.
