Voltage Vessel

This piece was twined with fishing line over copper metal. The vertical lines of the copper create a sense of tension and containment, as if energy is being held within the form. At the rim, the copper breaks into looping, animated curls. These gestures introduce movement and release, suggesting a current that cannot be fully contained.

Voltage Vessel This piece explores the intersection of traditional basketry and modern, industrial material. Constructed from monofilament fishing line and copper wire, it reimagines the vessel as something charged—both structurally and visually. Light plays an essential role in this piece. The green fishing line captures and reflects the light, giving the vessel a shifting presence that changes with its surroundings. Voltage Vessel invites the viewer to consider how energy moves through material, and how a familiar form can be transformed into something that feels active, luminous, and alive.
