I grew up in Brooklyn and found my way West to the graduate school at the University of Arizona. After moving to San Diego, I became involved with creating and selling crafts, and finally found my art- Natural Basketry- in Misti Washington's class in the fall of 1976. In the summer of 1983, I studied with a Tohono O'odham (Papago) basket weaver, Frances Manuel.
