I created this piece thinking about the vertical lines of soil and sky and horizontal lines of plants. I marbled blue and brown clay on the pottery wheel to create the frame. The lulav I repurposed to weave this was used as part of the Sukkot ritual. The movement performed when blessing the lulav is pointing it up down, side back and front. I was interested to weave in a way that would incorporate the movement of wind, ritual and of stability.
