We are living in a time when traditional basketry knowledge and technique are experiencing recognition and resurgence. As a basket maker, I have the opportunity to innovate, to value and demonstrate fine craftsmanship, to tell a story through my work and to create a legacy. I rarely make the same thing twice. I never stop learning. I value the cultural exchange I have experienced by learning from master weavers from the US and around the world. In addition, I have had the opportunity to learn about and preserve our natural environment in the experience of gathering and processing materials from nature. I use traditional weaving techniques to weave contemporary sculptural baskets, and I have been making baskets for over fifty years.
