This work comes from an invitational show honoring Mary Giles and incorporating materials from her stash.
This piece grew from the rusted found steel circles of Mary Giles. Her black steel wire and brass wire was used to knit the main forms, as well as my own stash of copper wire. Each disc is covered with animal membrane. Cytosketons form the structure of cells with variable networks of proteins that shift, change, and form complex systems within organisms.
