During the pandemic I took an online coiled basket class (from Australia) using raffia. I enjoyed the meditative process and began experimenting with different materials: rope, papercord, yarn, cotton thread. With each work, I envision a place: mountains, meandering rivers, and even my ancestors' Baltic homeland in a snowy winter, embellished with amber beads.
