Glass Basket #1

Birds, bugs, and more… Things that fly, crawl, tremble, have lots of feathers, arms, and legs. Strange eyes. Carapaces and tails. These capture my imagination, show up in my dreams, and in my waking hours I figure out how to make them from metal, glass, or found objects. A lifetime of learning: glass blowing, torch work, and glass casting, metal soldering and welding. An equal amount of time gathering and hoarding materials. Ideas come and go, but if I retain an image in my mind for a certain amount of time then I usually can give it form, whether it is a sculpture, basket, or painting.
