I first started weaving traditional baskets over 30 years ago. I enjoyed being able to make something that could be functional and make a great gift. As I continued to weave, I found myself doing more sculptural baskets, first using rattan but then using Raku and gourds. Having lived in the Southwest for 20 years, my color palette and creative work has changed. My gourd sculptures always lean toward a Native American feel and look. My current body of work is sculptural in nature and unique in the way I weave using waxed linen. It is very much one of a kind. Although I have taken classes from many known basketweavers, I have followed my own path.
