Summer Waves

This piece is woven on a loom warping with 20 ga copper wire. The weaving is Eastern White Cedar, Spruce Bark, seagrass and copper stripping. After the weaving is complete and still full of moisture, it is taken off the loom and shaped and left to dry in that shape. The copper allows and helps with the shaping.

I weave mainly in tree barks which I harvest myself. All my work is a legacy to those trees, who gave their life to me and my creations. Their remains are taken to the mill.
