My basketry expresses ideas about the relationships among communities and between humanity and the natural world. I began making baskets in 2022 as a way to process challenging circumstances associated with my human rights work. I mostly use reverse twining, but mistakes have helped me develop techniques to experiment with form and texture. My baskets are made from waxed linen thread as well as locally gathered natural materials.
