Making Decisions

The process of making decisions can be as unique as the individual making them. Some people research, plan and discuss while others delay and obstruct. Folks may lead or they may follow. Plans may unravel, take a circuitous route or necessitate input from others to achieve the desired result of one’s decision. When creating Making Decisions I employed plaiting, twining and stamping techniques and used paper, acrylic paint, wood, waxed linen and ink.

My contemporary woven sculptures express personal thoughts and emotions. My intention is to engage the viewer. From first impressions, I hope they will linger — look closely — and explore the multiple layers and meanings in my work. Ultimately, I hope they will discover the idea, opinion or feeling that inspired each work. My sculptures whether in vessel form or not are all made with basketry techniques.
