After 40 years of making baskets exclusively with pine needles, I needed a challenge that would take me beyond what I already knew. Working in this medium has inherent limitations but really, what exactly are they? This is what I have set out to discover with new shapes and new stitches. I want the result to reflect the beauty of the materials without revealing the effort that it took to create it.
