◀ Return to the Basketry Calendar
This workshop is part of HGA’s Convergence 2026 in New Orleans, and will go to the roots of ply-split braiding.
Students will make a traditional pattern from the camel belts of Rajasthan, a pattern in POT and SCOT in black and white; it’s something that all ply-splitters should make at least once. Students will also make a second, simpler camel belt braid, also in black and white. Students won’t make a whole camel belt in the workshop, but will leave with the skills to do so.
