DESCRIPTION:In this busy four-day workshop\, Ann will introduce the off-loo
 m weaving technique of twining as a method of creating contemporary woven 
 sculptural forms.\n\nTwining is an ancient basketry technique\, possibly a
 s old as 2 million years\, that co-evolved in multiple cultures across the
  globe – from Africa\, to the Bering Strait to Sumer.\n\nWe will utilize
  both waxed linen as well as reed and will cover several different ways of
  starting pieces. Ann will teach you how to turn\, split and join forms\, 
 giving you lots of methods for inventing your own shapes.\n\nMost of all\,
  we will have fun creating new forms with this pre-historic basketry techn
