DESCRIPTION:This 2-day workshop is part of HGA's Convergence 2026 in New Or
 leans\, and is an introduction to ply-split braiding for baskets.\nStudent
 s will learn how to construct four different mats (basket bases)\, taking 
 one of these further to form a basket\, and will use cotton\, linen\, wool
  and rug wool to get a feel for how they behave. Students will learn how t
 o make a square base round\, and how to make at least one basket border. A
 ll of these will give skills\, confidence and ideas for ply-split basket m
 aking.
