Expand your fiber arts knowledge and explore the how-to of basket weaving.  Discover a variety of basketry techniques and concepts while weaving a series of ‘panels’ or ‘samplers’ using rattan materials. Learn a variety of techniques; many sizes of rattan to select from, along with a variety of seagrass, paper splint, etc. The finished result will be panels that are appropriate for you to hang in your home or studio. You’ll be learning about the properties of the materials and encouraged to combine materials (seagrass, waxed linen, rattan, etc.), experimenting with possibilities. Each student can expect to create at least 7 panels during the workshop. These panels are excellent resources for students’ reference.
