My work focuses on use of found materials and inventiveness. Looking to biology and geography as my inspiration, I am creating landscapes and sculptures of texture and color that can be compared to maps and spaces that live internally or under water. Cell structures or animal cells can look a lot like aerial views of the earth. Growth of fungi on a fallen log can be looked at as a mountain range if the proper scale presents itself. Weaving mountains and valleys, stitching, beadwork, found objects, hand dying and painting, I am creating my own landscapes and imagined entities.
