The Quarterly Review is a high quality glossy magazine published by NBO four times each year. The magazine is the only national publication documenting the work of outstanding basket makers, both traditional and sculptural, and serves as an important archive of contemporary basket making in America.
Each issue features the work of two artists as well as several other articles related to basketry. In addition the magazine includes news about NBO’s conferences and exhibitions, book and exhibition reviews as well as a comprehensive listing of shows, educational opportunities and calls to entry.
Submissions are welcomed. Submissions to one of the featured artists must include at least one image of the artist as well as 6-10 photographs of the artwork. A description of each piece of artwork should also be included: title, year, materials used, dimension and photography credit. Article length should be approximately 1,200 to 1,500 words. The editor will make final decisions on the content of the article and the choice of photographs.
Articles of interest to basket makers and collectors are also welcome and can be of any length. Writers are invited to query the editor before submission.
