Grants, Scholarships & Awards

The National Basketry Organization maintains a full program of scholarships, grants and awards to encourage and support basket makers. NBO raises funds for these programs at an auction held at the biennial conference and through contributions and grants from individuals.

2017 NBO Conference Scholarship Grants

NBO offers scholarship opportunities for our biennial conferences. These scholarships are awarded by review of committee appointed by the board.

2017 Conference Scholarship Grants Prospectus – Application period will open on September 1, 2016 and must be received or postmarked by October 7, 2016. You will be notified if your application has been accepted by October 21, 2016. While no deposit is due when applying for a scholarship, successful applicants will be required to submit a registration form with a non-refundable registration fee of $65.00 by November 4, 2016 in order to secure your scholarship and workshop space.

2017 Conference Scholarship Application period is closed. 

NBO Exhibition Awards

Scholarship funds are used to underwrite a variety of cash awards at NBO sponsored exhibitions. The NBO board has voted $3000 for various awards at All Things Considered 9: Basketry in the 21st Century. Other organizations are invited to add to this list of awards.
