Choose from any or all of the following three, one-day workshops:

October 31, 2019:  Ose Basket (Hen Basket) – This is a traditional Hen Basket, woven with willow and used to carry chickens to market or, in Victorian times, used as a proper lady’s purse. There will be much emphasis on the shaping of the many ribs that create this basket’s full shape.

November 1, 2019: Triple X Oval “Sciath’og” – Modeled after an old oval sciath’og, (pronounced skeeogue) this is an excellent basket to experience weaving with willow for the first time, or to practice perfecting your skill with willow and ribs. Triple x-lashing, shaving, and shaping with ribs, will all be skills worked on while weaving this basket.

November 2, 2019: Random Willow Weave “Bird Weave” – Create a willow fabric structure using random weave techniques Willow sticks are interlaced creating a flat surface, that is then shaped into a variety of 3-dimensional forms.
