This class will introduce weavers to native black willow bark, a very strong, flexible and beautiful fiber uncommonly used for basketry. Students will be provided with hand cut bark strips to process (clean of outer bark) and weave into a small round or square bottom basket of their choosing. A variety of twining techniques will be taught in addition to cordage spinning.
