Clay Burnette – Pine Needle Basketry, A Contemporary Aproach

In this class participants explore a non-traditional approach to coiling. Using longleaf pine needles, waxed linen thread and a large sewing needle, students learn how to use the entire pine needle to create texture and contemporary shapes while exploring the use of various stitches to create patterned objects.
