Discover the coiling technique as an interesting way to make fun and functional fabric containers and mats. This is a great way to use up fabric scraps, or bring new fabric. Get into the motion of wrapping fabric around cotton clothesline, then wind into a spiral and stitch to build the shape. Project ideas include round, oval, or square baskets of varying depths, with handles or covers if you wish, or make placemats. Only basic machine-sewing experience is needed.
